Borosilicate glass is a high-grade glass material with a temperature resistance which is nearly three times higher than normal untreated soda lime glass. It is produced in thicknesses ranging from 0.7 mm to 15 mm.
Borosilicate glass appears neutral in colour and has a high chemical resistance. The thermal coefficient of expansion is only one third of the soda lime glass.
As a flat glass Hecker offers the floated borosilicate glass BoroVision. This BoroVision is a real alternative to BorofloatŪ because the technical aspects are similar and the price is more than competitive.
Typical applications are cover glasses for spotlights, displays and thin film solar modules, substrates for coatings, protection glass inside an oven, sight glasses in heating and chemical devices.
Relevant standards: ISO 3585 and EN 1748-1
